This is a scholarly edition of the paeans, or sacred hymns to Apollo, written by the famous classical poet Pindar. They are the most celebrated examples of a genre which once held a central place in the song-dance culture of classical Greece - a unique and haunting legacy of both early classical poetry and ancient religion.
