At the core of the eighteenth-century Scottish Enlightenment were philosophers whose influence is still felt today. In this history of Scottish philosophy, first published in 1875, James McCosh (1811–94) details the work of the philosophers from this important period including Francis Hutcheson, David Hume, Thomas Reid and Adam Smith.
