This two-volume biography, first published in 1825, presents a sympathetic portrait of the tumultuous personal, political and literary life of playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan (1751–1816). Written by the Irish poet Thomas Moore (1779–1852), the work proved successful and influential. Volume 2 expands on Sheridan's political life.
