Letters to My Wife collects over 240 letters from soldier poet Alun Lewis to his wife Gweno, from his enlistment and until his death in Burma in 1944. From them emerges a unique account of day to day army life, in Britain, India and Burma. Above all, the letters testify to his love for Gweno, whom he married in July 1941 before embarkation.
