Edmund Hicklin is a black cab driver in London. His vehicle morphs from Celtic horse and carriage to 1960s Austin taxicab, and he participates in unguarded exchanges at key moments in the lives of a memorable bunch of passengers. Casting a droll eye over his encounters, Edmund shows how an ordinary person can affect the course of history.
