This study suggests a new phenomenon; the Misinformation Finds Them (MFT) perception. This suggests that people are not only exposed to misinformation by participating in their usual media and social ecosystems, but that they consider the threat of misinformation real and more impactful on others. This distortion results in greater polarization.
