Peter Lindbergh was wary of society’s fixation on outlandishly retouched women. Shadows on the Wall offers a stunning curation of truly individual, intimate images, with hardly any retouching or makeup. Handpicked from 37,000 photos of his groundbreaking 2017 Pirelli calendar shoot, Lindbergh offers an insight into a pool of extraordinary talent, from Alicia Vikander to Zhang Ziyi.
